jackalope tank
a limited edition tank, solar printed by hand. jackalopes are mystical creatures that may or may not be real. you have to decide for yourself. this design was made in the memory of my grandpa who had one hanging in his office my whole childhood. i always wondered if they were real -- he was adamant that they were. handmade in boise using solar reactive dyes -- this is a piece of artwork and every shirt will look slightly different in terms of exposure or other artifacts.
shipping times can be up to 1-2 weeks due to me making these by hand. this isn't a quick print process.
print methods
solar printing involves:
- painting a uv reactive dye onto the cotton shirt
- using a negative to expose the image onto the dye using sunlight or uv light
- washing out the unexposed dye before it see's the light of day
this printing process results in a shirt that is unique every time with slight artifacts from the density of the ink, temperature, exposure time, etc.

owyhee opal is run by one person and every shirt is made by hand by me. this means that shirts will sometimes be slower to ship due to things like me being on vacation or getting more orders than I can crank out in a day. i try to get to every shirt same day, but will let you know by email if that isn't possible.
return policy
every solar printed shirt will look slightly different due to the nature of the printing method, but I want to make sure every customer is satisfied.
send me a message or email if you have issues with the shirt turning blue (residual unexposed dye) or if there is a manufacturing defect.
